Dive into adventure with our Diving CCA! This exciting club offers students the chance to explore the underwater world, learn essential diving skills, and achieve certification as open water recreational divers. Whether you're a beginner eager to take your first plunge or an experienced diver looking to advance your skills, our club has something for everyone.
Qualified divers can take advantage of advanced diving courses and specialty dive programs, including navigation, wreck diving, and more. For those seeking thrilling underwater experiences, fun dives are also available to join.
As an added bonus, IB students can use participation in our diving CCA as a CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) experience, especially if they're undertaking courses like Open Water or Advanced Open Water certification. While there's no upfront cost for the CCA itself, students should be prepared to cover expenses for dive trips and courses. Join us and embark on unforgettable underwater adventures!Â
CAS Strand: Creativity and Activity
The Diving CCA supports students' creativity by requiring them to learn and pass an online course, engaging them in interactive modules and problem-solving tasks. Additionally, students must pass swimming and buoyancy tests, promoting physical activity and enhancing their swimming skills. These components encourage students to think critically, problem-solve, and develop both mentally and physically as they prepare for underwater exploration.
Lasallian Principles: Respect for All Persons
The Diving CCA fosters respect for all persons by providing students with opportunities to understand marine life and interact with underwater creatures. By gaining insight into the underwater ecosystem, students develop empathy and appreciation for the diversity of life forms. This understanding can inspire them to become advocates for marine conservation and raise awareness about the impact of pollution on the ecosystem. Through their experiences in the diving CCA, students learn to value and respect the interconnectedness of all living beings and the importance of preserving our natural world for future generations.
