Recreational Basketball

Basketball

Basketball is one of many sports which encourages teamwork. It helps students to cooperate with one another, through good communication, to achieve victory. It is also a great way to keep fit and to improve coordination. Apart from knowing how to play the game, students can learn social, problem-solving as well as leadership skills. It is a great sport to shape one’s character. As Michael Jordan once said: “Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it." At SJII, we have students who joined the CCA to fulfill their CAS requirements while others just want to have some fun (and to reduce stress) and make some new friends!

This CCA is open to both boys and girls on a first come first serve basis.

CAS Strand: Activity

This CCA falls under the "Activity" strand. As such, students work on their physical fitness and need to remain committed to weekly sessions in order to develop the necessary physical and mental skills to enjoy the sport.

Lasallian Principles: Inclusive Community

With participants welcomed from grades 7 to 12 and with both boys and girls able to attend this CCA, it presents a unique opportunity to foster positive relationships and a sense of community.
