Purpose: To ignite creativity and develop technical and practical skills in architecture, design, and spatial planning among high school students through hands-on projects, real-world applications, and collaborations. This is important because we know a lot of students interested in pursuing architecture in the future and this CCA will be the perfect place for them to explore their interests.
General Activities:
🔨 Model Making & Design Challenges
Build scale models using cardboard, foam and other materials.
Participate in monthly design challenges (e.g., “Tiny House,” “Sustainable School Campus,” “Reimagine Your City”).
Get feedback from peers to improve projects.
✏️ Portfolio Building & Competitions
Help students prepare architecture portfolios for university applications.
Join national/international design competitions like ArchOutLoud or Design for Humanity.
General Timeline:
Every month, we will come up with a theme along with parameters in which the students are challenged to create an architectural mockup. These can be constructed using various materials such as foam boards, cardboard, sticks, straws, etc. At the end of the month, each person will showcase their mockup to the rest of the CCA .
CAS Strand: Creativity

Creation of visual portfolios, model showcases and exhibitions
Students are encouraged to innovate and explore their passions and design styles
Lasallian Principles: Inclusive Community, Quality Education, Concern for the Poor and Social Justice
Inclusive Community
In this CCA, students will collaborate with each other to construct their projects, learning and growing together as a community.
Students with the same interests in design and architecture gather together at the CCA to hone our skills and explore our passion together.
Quality Education
Students will nurture their practical skills as they work with various tools and materials, exploring different methods of constructing architectural models through trial and error. They will delve deeper into their passions and interests.
Concern for the Poor and Social Justice
This CCA empowers students to explore design as a force for good. Through community-centered design projects — like sustainable housing concepts, inclusive public spaces, or eco-friendly school improvements — students will engage with real-world issues such as inequality in access to safe shelter, sustainability, and urban justice.
Respect for All Persons
The CCA nurtures a design philosophy that values inclusivity, accessibility, and empathy. Students are encouraged to think about how their designs impact diverse groups — including the elderly, children, people with disabilities, or underserved communities. In this way, the CCA builds a culture of compassionate creativity.
