One Voice is the student-let school magazine which is published bimonthly. Students are encouraged to creatively explore and compose material on a wide range of topics using a variety of text-types. They will work with an assigned editor to hone their writing skills to better convey their opinions and ideas to their readers. Within the publication, there are also opportunities to publish photography, work on social media promotion and to engage with graphic design.
CAS Strand: Creativity
This CCA is linked to creativity because students are given the opportunity to express their opinions and thoughts through a wide range of writing, photography, and other creative forms of expression which will be published to the SJII school community. Students will use their imagination, harness their passions for creating and be encouraged to develop and improve their writing skills.
Lasallian Principles: Quality Education
Participation and engagement in this CCA will help students to hone their overall language, writing and communication skills which are necessary as they progress through the IB Program, into further education and the work force. Students will also be expected to engage in critical thinking as they resource appropriate evidence for their writing pieces, show the ability to work independently and also exhibit excellent time-management skills. All of these are necessary in school, and will help prepare them for life in a global community.
