‘Family ties’ is a CCA which primarily focuses on improving awareness regarding the importance of family relationships while concurrently creating a unique and fashionable clothing line to support our partner organisation. :
CAS Strand: Service and Creativity
Creatively, students will participate in weekly meetings and collaborative projects, fostering community-based creativity and individual initiatives. The CCA encourages innovative thinking in merchandise design, promoting original, meaningful, and stylish creations by students.
Service-wise, Family Ties focuses on sustained, indirect service advocating for the underrepresented issue of family relationships. Through partnerships with the LoveYourFamily charity, students will raise awareness and funds, providing an opportunity to engage with this global cause and expand their impact.
Lasallian Principles: Inclusive community, respect for all persons, & concern for the poor and social justice
Family ties support the Lasallian values in multiple ways. Firstly, our service promotes inclusive community as every member of the service will be given responsibilities and tasks. None of our members will be left out or excluded from any activities.
Secondly, our service certainly upholds concern for social justice. We have identified a highly prevalent issue among the wider community and our service aims to address it. Our work is based on the issue of family relationships and we will continue to develop our CCA to be able to support our partner LYF.
Thirdly, our CCA encourages students to foster a respect for everyone, and our service partners work with all groups of people. The main issue that our service aims to address is a universal experience for everyone of all walks of life, and together as a service group we understand this and hope to support families who need it. By focusing on relationships within families, Family Ties addresses emotional and social issues that can affect students' lives, promoting mental health and equity in access to family support.
