Under 14, 16 &19 Girls Touch Football

Touch (also known as Touch Rugby or Touch Football) is an adapted sport from the rugby league. There is no tackling involved so there is a lower risk of injuries. It mainly entails cardiovascular endurance, speed and agility, basic ball handling skills and a positive attitude towards learning! A team sport, Touch is a great way to make new connections and expand your social circle.

Students will engage in weekly training sessions to hone their touch skills and ball handling techniques; as well as their soft skills (e.g. communication). Students will also have the opportunity to represent the school in tournaments/friendlies.

CAS Strand: Activity

Fulfilling the activity strand of CAS, students will engage in weekly training sessions to hone their physical skills/techniques; as well as their soft skills (e.g. communication). Students will also have the opportunity to represent the school in tournaments/friendlies.

Furthermore, students are required to be physically active; maintain a certain level of fitness to be able to play the game.

Through training sessions, stimulated games and competitions, players will learn the importance of respect for themselves, their teammates, their coach, their opponents and the environment (e.g. equipment, referees). Good sportsmanship is first and foremost in this CCA!

Sports like Touch are fundamental in the school's holistic approach to education. Like many other sports, Touch teaches students more than just physical skills. It reinforces life values such as perseverance, empathy, responsibility, initiative etc., and social skills (e.g. effective communication).
