World Scholars Cup is an international academic competition with four main components: debate, individual essay, individual quiz and group quiz. Students work in teams of three, and explore topics linked to study six main curriculum areas: Science & Technology, Special Area, Social Studies, History, Art & Music, and Literature & Media.
This CCA is designed to support students in learning the required content and preparing them with the skills they need to compete in local and international competitions.

CAS Strand: Creativity
This CCA aligns with Creativity, as students will be given an avenue to practice expressing themselves in creative ways while being able to collaborate in a group and build a community with like-minded peers. The structure of the World Scholars Cup encourages students to think creatively when debating and interacting with others, on topics such as current world issues. They can also practice creativity in writing, as an essay will also be required of students joining the competition.
Lasallian Principles: Respect for all persons and Quality education
This CCA supports the Lasallian values of Respect for all persons and Quality education. Students will learn to politely and actively collaborate in discussions with people holding different points of view and opinions. By preparing for these discussions students will also be expanding their knowledge to more than just the academic syllabus they study in school. In addition, this competition promotes diversity, and inclusivity and fosters an environment where scholars feel at ease to express themselves in the way they wish to.
