House Band

House Band is for developing musicians on wind (sax, trumpet, trombone) and rhythm (keys, bass, guitar, drums) instruments. This ensemble will be rehearsing Funk and Jazz arrangements for performance events both inside school and outside. Ability to read music and follow score is essential.

CAS Strand: Creativity

Performing as part of an ensemble and musical community is an incredibly enriching and rewarding experience. House Band gives students the opportunity to develop their musical skills, interpretation of various genres of music and ultimately work together to create some funky Jazzy Beats. It also develops the virtues of creativity, risk-taking, perseverance and a sense of achievement and enjoyment.

As well as preparing for various performances throughout the year, House Band also teaches discipline, time management, cooperation, importance of practice and balance in life - skills that contribute to a happy and healthy life.
