Robotics Unbound

Robotics Unbound

Robotics Unbound is a Student-Run Service Initiative composed of enthusiastic individuals that aim to expose youths around Singapore to the fundamentals of Robotics & Programming. Some students do not have the opportunity to ever explore the fields of Robotics & Programming due to their schools not teaching it, and the associated kits and training can be extremely expensive Robotics Unbound aims to rectify this by exposing youths from less able socioeconomic backgrounds to the basics of Robotics & Programming through approachable platforms like LEGO Robotics and Scratch to allow them the chance to discover a potential interest. CAS Strand: Service

In the digital era of today, basic technological proficiency is becoming a necessity and job demand for programmers, engineers and developers has grown exponentially and will continue to do so. Robotics unbound develops and teaches STEM courses such as WeDO lego robotics and Scratch to help children develop their potential for a career in STEM. In addition, we also do indirect service such as making robotics newsletters to encourage long-term interest in STEM.

Lasallian Principles: Quality Education, Concern for the Poor and Social Justice and Inclusive community

This service allows students to provide quality education for all, creating an inclusive STEM community to give children the opportunity to explore a normally pricey robotics experience. A core part of Robotics Unbound is outreach workshops whereby we work with external organisations to teach robotics and programming in less privileged communities. Students engage in direct service by providing the less fortunate with quality education, practicing their concern for the poor.
