Creative Writing

Creative Writing

The Creative Writing CCA is a place where avid writers and readers can explore their creativity. During the sessions, students will be given the opportunity to focus on their creative writing (either with prompts or original ideas) with input from the CCA leaders and their peers.

This CCA also doubles as a forum for literature lovers to voice their opinions on books, poetry and other media in open discussion with others.

Above all, this CCA aims to nurture students’ writing talents and provide a platform for like-minded people to converse.

CAS Strand: Creativity

This CCA provides students with an opportunity each week to develop their creative skills outside of the confines of the classroom and separate from the confines of the English Curriculum.

Participants will expand their skill set, be encouraged to explore new topics, genre and mediums, and 'play' with alternative forms of writing each week.

Participation in this CCA will also support students to find their own original writing style of writing which will hopefully foster a love of creative writing beyond the CCA.

Lasallian Principles: Inclusive Community and Quality Education

This CCA supports the Lasallian value, of inclusive community as it aims to build a sense of community and positive peer relationships around a shared interest- Creative Writing.

This CCA also supports quality education. By participating in the CCA students will learn from and with members of the SJII community to develop transferrable skills which will benefit them indise and outside of the classroom.
