Cooking Class

Cooking Classes

Led by Chef Louise, a former MasterChef contestant, this culinary club offers students the opportunity to delve into the world of cooking. Throughout the season, participants will explore a diverse array of sweet and savory dishes, mastering essential culinary techniques and discovering new flavors from different cuisines. Each session promises an immersive hands-on experience, allowing students to not only prepare and cook but also savor the fruits of their labor at home.

Note: Students are required to purchase and bring their own apron.

CAS Strand: Creativity

Cooking and baking allow students to demonstrate their creativity. Guided by a professional chef, students will work individually or in pairs to explore and extend their culinary knowledge and foster their passion for food. Through exposure to a range of cuisines and cooking techniques, students will recreate local and international favourites with opportunities to also reinvent or recreate traditional dishes using their new skills and knowledge.

Lasallian Principle: Quality Education

A quality education extends beyond the classroom, exposes students to a wide range of experiences and learning opportunities and prepares them for life. This cooking CCA exposes students to local and international culinary traditions and techniques so that they may develop a deeper understanding of the world and people around them. It is hoped that students will develop their cooking abilities and look for opportunities to use their talents to support their communities. This CCA will prepare them for life after school as they grow in confidence and learn about nutrition and ingredients.
