Learning at SJI International aims to develop the whole person through academic rigour, and by providing opportunities for character growth through service to others, physical challenge, and cultural and spiritual immersion. Our learning program has four distinct pillars: Academic; Outdoor Education; Service Learning; and Co-Curricular Activities, all of which are underpinned by our commitment to pastoral care and our Lasallian values.
Throughout our Enrichment program, we aim to encourage our students to try new things, develop skills and talents they already have, and promote leadership opportunities beyond the classroom.
Our Co-curricular activities cover a wide range of activities run by our academic staff as well as external professional coaches and instructors.
In 2025 there are over 150 CCA initiatives ranging from sports and the creative arts to service initiatives and clubs based on shared interests.
While the classroom remains central to school life, we see co-curricular activities (CCAs) as vital to a well-rounded education.
The majority of CCAs are facilitated by our passionate and experienced teachers and members of the school community and range from sports, languages, service to the arts. Most activities are free though there are some which do incur a small fee to engage the expertise of outside providers such as Qualified Dance Teachers or Chefs.
The energy and variety in our co-curriculum program is such that every student is sure to find something to inspire them.
In fact, if there is an activity not currently available we will do everything in our power to make it available. In fact, many of the clubs at SJII have been initiated and planned by current or former students.

Most CCAs are free for students and facilitated by SJII faculty, but there are some which incur a small charge to compensate external facilitators such as robotics or to purchase single use materials for students which is the case for a range of specific art or craft CCAs and the cooking CCA which requires the purchase of ingredients.
However, sports CCAs are unique with payment often required to engage professional coaches, book community facilities and/or due to ACSIS representative sport alignment.
Participants and players in certain sports may notice that in one CCA term a sport could be paid, while in the second term it is unpaid. This is due to alignment with the competitive ACSIS seasons and the school's two fixed CCA terms.
When a sport is out of the CCA season and students are receiving professional coaching from an external coach, there will be a charge to compensate the coach (similar to independently organised sports training). However, when students are both training and representing the school in the ACSIS competitions, the cost of the external coach is paid for by the school.
