CCAs and CAS

CCAs and CAS

Co-Curricular Activities and CAS are integrally linked. Students from grades 7-12 are required to commit to the CCA program, engage in ongoing activities, and reflect meaningfully on their experiences.

The CASL program which will be formally launched in 2023 facilitates this process by providing a framework and dedicated time during the school day for students to cogitate, evidence and demonstrate their growth as a result of their experiences. This whole school program ensures that students make meaningful connections both within and outside of the school community, supports their development as global citizens and ensures that they are prepared for the formal CAS program in Grades 11 and 12.

To attain the IB Diploma students need to engage with a range of CAS experiences and complete at least one CAS project over an 18 month period. Senior students take greater ownership over their learning journeys and are responsible for planning their experiences, making connections with teachers and the wider SJII community to support their initiatives and keeping track of their experiences by uploading evidence and reflections to their online CAS Portfolio.
