Basketball Girls

Basketball Girls

Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly with five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball through the defender's hoop. The Basketball CCA aims to provide students with the opportunity to hone basic basketball skills, which includes various ball handling and shooting techniques. As basketball is a team sport which requires strong teamwork, our training sessions are with the aim to help our students develop greater understanding about their strength and weakness and foster camaraderie within the team.

Students who take part in Basketball CCAs have the opportunity to represent the school during ACSIS competitions. Please talk to the head of Sport to learn more about these opportunities.

CAS Strand: Activity

During training sessions, students work on their technical individual ball-handling skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting, as well as tactical knowledge and teamwork. Players will also have a chance to work on their cardiovascular fitness and speed during high-intensity drills.

Lasallian Principles: Respect for All Persons

In this CCA we aim to develop the values of respect and compassion in our students as they learn to encourage and motivate each other during training sessions. Ultimately, we believe that all the students from the Basketball CCA will be exemplary in their character and be great sports women.
