The Sustainability Squad

The Sustainability Squad is a student-initiated group who are taking action to reduce the amount of waste that goes to the landfill from SJII. Currently 240 Green bins full of waste leave SJII campus every month. This waste ultimately fills Semakau Island (and island made of waste that is predicted to run out of space in 2025). Then what?

This group is dedicated to reducing our waste product by redirecting resources, like plastic, food waste, green waste and reusable items away from the landfill as well as engaging in evidence based conversations about what Sustainability means to the SJII community.
