Cheshire Homes

Cheshire Homes

Cheshire homes was founded in 1957 with the aim to provide a "home" for the care of the seriously disabled having no or limited means and whose families, if any, are unable to provide adequate care.

You will be helping with social and recreational activities, for example playing games, ie Uno, snakes and ladders, jenga, etc. The focus is on social interaction.

In addition, there may be some daily tasks that the residents might find difficult, ie gardening.

Empathy, encouragement and patience are values that are needed for this service.

CAS Strand: Service

Members of this CCA collaborate with each other to plan sessions for Cheshire Home residents. This is a valuable and rewarding opportunity to give back to the local community.

Lasallian Principles: Inclusive Community and Respect For All Persons

This CCA involves ensuring people have access to social interaction, who may not otherwise have the opportunity to converse with and communicate with members of the Singaporean community. In supporting this CCA, students are supporting the quality of life for all persons and respecting the dignity of residents of Cheshire Homes.
