Sound Engineering
Students are taught the rudiments of Sound Engineering, Acoustic and Music Technology.
Students will record a variety of ensemble scenarios in line with the other Music CCAs available using the portable recording equipment, our newly installed recording facility and our iMac facility.
CAS Strand: Creativity
The purpose of this CCA is to guide musicians to utilise technology creativity and who understand some of the science behind sound. The hope is that they can then move away from the labels of Arts and Science and just see what is needed to forge and high quality sound recording.
Lasallian Principles: Inclusive Community and Quality Education
This is a fully inclusive CCA that allows all to navigate a specialist art form. By highlighting the similarities between Art and Science and then simplifying the language, we can make Sound Engineer available to all.
This is open to musician and non-musicians, any age group, and any gender identity.
We hope to highlight the quality need to pursue Sound Engineer in the professional arts environment so that students get a real feel for life beyond the boundaries of school.
