The Bolt Bulletin

Members of this CCA will work collaboratively to produce short monthly videos with digestible information on current global issues made by students for students.

Members will be involved in research and data collection, script writing, video production and editing, and presentation of information.

This CCA will certainly help develop students' creativity, ICT, presentation, and writing skills while simultaneously supporting students' knowledge and understanding of the world.

Videos produced in the CCA will be shared with the community and shown on the TV screens around the campus.

CAS Strand: Creativity

Members are encouraged to explore their own sense of original thinking and expression, whilst designing and editing videos. Members will creative writing and design skills to make informative which are informative and visually engaging.

Lasallian Principles: Concern for the Poor, Inclusive Community and Respect for All Persons

The CCA supports the Lasallian value of ‘concern for poor and social justice’ by shining light on and addressing global issues, situations of injustice, and unfairly treated individuals. This evokes a sense of urgency to take action and sympathy in both members and the student body

The Lasallian value of ‘inclusive community’ is also demonstrated in this CCA. Issues from different racial groups, religious groups, and different parts of the world will be presented free from personal bias and promotion of one way of thinking.

Global news often focuses on negative events, incidents and experiences. It is therefore important that members demonstrate respect for all persons’ when reporting on these events.
