Daughters of the Revolution

DOTR aims to empower the 21st century heroines through self love and empowerment. DOTR fundraises to empower women through self love via art and stories. Notably last year, DOTR was working closely with the Ukrainian embassy to help women in Ukraine to create tshirts and NFTs to help raise funds for the war efforts. The visual is a young Ukrainian girl defiantly spray painting her flag; a message that women can be part of building their countries too. This year, we are working to expand outward to other countries, and make our impact greater, so that many women can be supported in their journey to building their nations too.

CAS Strand: Creativity and Service

Participants use creativity to come up with new ideas and fundraising solutions and awareness campaigns to empower women across the globe. These include physical fundraisers in conjunction with the Ukrainian embassy, as well as online merchandising. In the expansion of DOTR's vision, students are actively involved in the growth and direction of the project, and the business as a whole.

DOTR is a service-based initiative in school, and all proceeds go to women in need. Through this, students directly engage with the decision making process and ethical choices. Creativity adds value and allows for the profits (that are donated), while service creates purpose. This ethos of purpose-profit driven fundraising lies at the core of DOTR's business model.

Lasallian Principles: Respect for All Persons, Inclusive Community, Concern for the Poor and Social Justice

Students create an inclusive community, working with the students within DOTR, as well as the Ukrainian embassy and their wider connection to the war. Futhermore, DOTR emphasises respect for others, again within DOTR, and with the charities and organisations we work with outside school - respecting their reputation and direction. Lastly, DOTR aims to uplift the poor and promotes social justice through gender equity, strongly believing in the importance of empowering women.
