Ultimate Frisbee is a non-contact, self-refereed team sport played with a flying disc frisbee. The game consists of two teams of seven players competing on a playing field about the same length as a football field, but narrower. At each end of the playing field, there is an end zone. Each team defends one end zone. They score a goal if one of their players catches the disc in the opposite end zone.
In this student led CCA, Weekly sessions involve drills and match play to help students improve their fitness, coordination, agility, teamwork and overall wellbeing. As a sport, Ultimate Frisbee encourages active participation regardless of prior experience, allowing more students to engage in consistent physical activity in a fun and low-pressure environment.
CAS Strand: Activity
Ultimate Frisbee builds fitness through active, fast-paced play and naturally develops a student’s agility, speed, and cardiovascular health as they run, jump and catch the disc, keeping them constantly moving without even realising the workout they are getting. It offers an approachable yet effective physical challenge, helping students improve their hand-eye coordination, balance, and overall stamina in an energetic, team-oriented environment that encourages a genuinely fun, lifelong habit of staying active.
Lasallian Principles: Inclusive Community and Respect for All Persons
This CCA promotes an inclusive community as anyone can join regardless of gender, experience, height, size or age. There is no prior experience needed to join, which means that anyone can join as long as they have an interest and are happy to improve.
This club will be primarily composed of beginners and the student leaders aim to create an open-minded and friendly space where everybody can improve their skills together.
